Study Business Innovation at SSE

All business development is based on some form of innovation that enables companies to grow and remain competitive in their markets. The change it brings can affect the entire company, parts of it, or specific projects aimed at optimizing smaller development processes. However, it always combines theory and practice and includes areas such as markets, strategy, and leadership - areas that must be managed to successfully develop a business.

In the MSc program in Business Innovation (MBI), you will learn to manage, lead, and develop businesses. You will develop both the mindset and the ability to take initiative. You will approach complex issues from qualitative and quantitative perspectives. You will also learn to collaborate effectively with others by understanding the value of diversity.

The MBI program brings together ambitious students who thrive on challenges and personal development - both individually and collaboratively - creating a dynamic environment that extends beyond the classroom. This unique mix is shaped by considering factors such as academic performance, motivation, background, and diversity during the admissions process. The MBI program seeks talented individuals with strong drive and energy who are eager to develop businesses for the future. Are you one of them?

Program structure

In the second year, you tailor your studies through electives, exchange opportunities, or advanced courses, and complete a Master thesis that brings together your knowledge of change, innovation, and growth.

Alumni perspective

I had a great two years at SSE in terms of the people I met and the courses I took. Five years on, it has become even more valuable after graduating because the alumni network opens a lot of doors professionally. When I was first applying, one of the professors in my program took an hour out of his time to meet with me, talk me through the kinds of students they were looking for, and give me some encouragement. That was key in helping me decide on SSE and one of the reasons I ended up loving it so much.
