Study International Business at SSE

The MSc program in International Business (MIB) equips you with advanced knowledge of managing and developing global organizations. You combine strategy and marketing perspectives to understand how firms operate and compete internationally, while exploring how innovation and management practices drive growth and operational excellence.

Leadership and teamwork are developed through live projects, group work, and interaction with executives. Ethics and CSR are integrated across courses, and communication training supports your professional development. You also work on real projects with corporate partners.

An advisory board with senior industry representatives provides input to ensure the program remains relevant from an employer perspective.

CEMS MIM

The MIB program offers the opportunity to also pursue the CEMS Master in International Management (MIM) as a joint degree, including a semester abroad at a CEMS partner school in your second year.

Applicants must meet both SSE and CEMS application requirements. More information is available in the application and admissions section.

Upon fulfilling all requirements and completing the programs, you are awarded a Master of Science degree from SSE and the CEMS MIM degree.

Program structure

The first year is completed at SSE and combines courses in global management and corporate finance with international projects, an international immersion internship, project work with corporate partners, a research project, and a CEMS international internship during the summer.

Alumni perspective

SSE has helped me immensely in guiding my career so far. While I believe the numerous corporate events are greatly beneficial for students to get an idea of what it is like to work for a particular organization, it was the time spent actively reflecting on what you really want to do with your life that helped me find my way (luckily, in the MIB program, personal leadership is in fact part of the curriculum, so you can’t really escape it). Needless to say, sessions with the career counseling service at SSE, the mentorship program, and a mandatory internship also help you find your way.
