Housing
Finding housing in Stockholm can take time, and it is important to start your search early. SSE offers limited housing primarily for international Bachelor and Master students, incoming exchange students, PhD students, and visiting researchers and staff.
Key housing information
- SSE housing is limited and not guaranteed – apply early and look for alternatives.
- Only admitted students receive housing application instructions by email.
- Offers are sent after the deadline – only selected students are contacted.
- You must accept within 48 hours or the offer is withdrawn.
- Contracts usually include a three-month notice period.
Housing through SSE
SSE provides a limited housing service for certain groups of students and visitors. Allocation is not guaranteed, and availability varies each year. If you are eligible, you will receive information directly from SSE about how and when to apply.
SSE-managed housing typically includes furnished rooms or apartments located in different parts of Stockholm. The housing is intended to support students and visitors during their stay and to help facilitate a smooth transition to life in the city.
Housing options in Stockholm
In addition to SSE housing, there are several other options available:
- Student housing providers (such as SSSB)
- Private rental apartments
- Shared housing with other students
Many students arrange housing independently. Waiting times for student housing can be long, and availability may vary depending on the time of year. Temporary accommodation is often used at the beginning of the semester.
Finding accommodation
We recommend starting your housing search as early as possible and using multiple channels. Useful approaches include:
- Registering with student housing providers
- Using established housing platforms and rental services
- Reaching out through student networks and social media groups
When searching for housing, it is important to review rental conditions carefully and be aware of common risks in the housing market.
Support and guidance
SSE provides general guidance to help students navigate the housing market and understand available options. While we cannot guarantee housing for all students, we aim to support you in finding a suitable solution.
If you have questions about housing, please contact SSE or refer to the resources provided to you during the admission process.
