Student health and support

Studying at SSE can be demanding. To support you throughout your studies, SSE offers services that focus on both wellbeing and academic success. The aim is to provide a supportive environment where all students can complete their studies under equal conditions.

Student health

SSE offers several services and initiatives that support students’ mental, physical, and social wellbeing.

Student Wellbeing Counsellor

The student wellbeing counsellor provides confidential support on campus. You can seek support for stress, anxiety, social challenges, or general wellbeing. You are also welcome to reach out if you simply need someone to talk to.

SSE Student Health Council

The Student Health Council promotes student wellbeing through collaboration between SSE and the student association (SASSE). The council develops and coordinates initiatives that support mental, physical, and social health among students.

SSE Health Day

SSE Health Day is an annual event focused on wellbeing. It includes activities, talks, and workshops related to mental, physical, and general health, and is open to students, faculty, and staff.

Mindful Mondays

Students can join weekly guided mindfulness sessions on Mondays at 12:40–13:00. These sessions offer a structured break from studies and an opportunity to focus and reset. No prior experience is required. Additional activities, such as workshops or themed sessions, may also be offered during the year.

Studenthälsa.se

Studenthälsa.se is a national platform for student health in Sweden. It provides resources, advice, and information on topics related to wellbeing during studies.

Academic support

SSE provides academic support to help students plan their studies and develop effective study strategies.

Academic advising

Academic advisors support enrolled students with study planning, study techniques, and academic questions. Advisors follow students throughout their time at SSE and provide guidance when needed.

Study with a disability

Students with a documented, long-term disability can apply for pedagogical support. The Discrimination Act (SFS 2008:567) defines disability as a permanent physical, mental, or intellectual limitation.

Support is assessed individually and may include adjustments such as adapted examination formats, note-taking support, or access to alternative course materials.

Applications are submitted through NAIS (National Administration and Information System). A coordinator for specific educational needs assesses each application and determines appropriate support.

Temporary injuries or short-term illnesses are not covered by this support.

Students are encouraged to review the guidelines for support to students with disabilities and to contact the coordinator for specific educational needs with any questions.
