The Bachelor program in Business and Economics provides a strong foundation for careers in business, economics, finance, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The broad curriculum offers flexibility to explore different fields and tailor your studies to your interests. The three-year program is taught entirely in English, and no tuition fees apply to citizens of the EU/EEA, Switzerland, or Ukraine.

About the program

The BSc program in Business and Economics gives you a solid foundation for a career in leading positions in many different fields. It's a broad, deep, and highly customizable program in an inspiring international environment. You have the freedom and flexibility to choose your own unique path and explore your passions through specializations and electives. You also have great opportunities for an exchange semester at one of our top partner universities around the world.

During your studies, you frequently interact with companies and organizations such as our corporate partners through guest lectures, live business cases, and projects to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

Many previous students highlight how the unique way of thinking and learning at SSE will give you an edge throughout your career. Through the BSc program in Business and Economics, you will quickly develop your strategic, analytical, problem-solving, and self-reflection skills. You will gain in-depth understanding of the economic factors that affect both society and organizations and how those can be influenced in order to reach desired goals. You will also develop a deeper understanding for and an economics perspective on global challenges such as sustainability, climate crises, and international conflicts.

Program structure

Semesters 1-3: We choose

In the first half of the program, you build a solid foundation through a broad set of mandatory courses. You get to explore areas such as accounting, business law, data analytics, economics, finance, global challenges (sustainability, climate crises, global conflicts), innovation and entrepreneurship, management, marketing, and strategy. You also connect what you learn in the different courses through the personal development course BE Reflection Series.

Semesters 4-6: You choose

In the second half of the program, you have the freedom to choose your own unique path through specializations and electives as well as exchange opportunities at top partner universities abroad. If you want to, you can also do a 16-week internship course instead of an exchange semester.

Student life at SSE is vibrant, social, and closely connected to your studies. The student association (SASSE) is one of the most active in the Nordics. Through SASSE, you can get involved in a wide range of activities, projects, and events alongside your academic work.
