International faculty, staff, guest researchers, and visitors

This page provides an overview of housing options for international faculty and staff, guest researchers, and visitors affiliated with the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE).

How to apply

Housing for these groups is coordinated through SSE’s Housing Office and HR department. All inquiries and applications should be directed to HR, who will provide information on the application process. Applications are reviewed according to SSE's housing priorities, and housing offers are made based on availability.

Availability and expectations

SSE offers a limited number of furnished apartments. Availability varies, and accommodation cannot be guaranteed for all applicants. We recommend that you begin searching for housing independently as early as possible and consider SSE housing as one of several options.

Housing contracts are offered for a maximum of 12 months. The purpose of university housing is to provide temporary accommodation. It is not intended as a permanent solution for the entire employment period. After the initial contract, the individual is expected to secure their own housing.

Please note that SSE no longer offers apartments in Kungsholmen (Pontonjärgatan).

Furnishing and practical information

All SSE apartments are fully furnished for practical reasons. Personal furniture cannot be added. Apartments are intended to provide a functional and comfortable living environment during your stay in Stockholm.

Accommodation is rented exclusively by full calendar months. Exact move‑in or move‑out dates cannot be accommodated, as fixed monthly periods ensure consistency and cost‑efficient administration. All contracts are subject to a three‑month notice period.
