Center for Security and Resilience (CfSR)

Building security through competitiveness. In a world shaped by disruption, agile competitiveness is increasingly central to national and global security. The Center for Security and Resilience (CfSR) brings together academia, business, and government to explore how societies can grow stronger in preparing for and managing crises and war.

Why this matters

The Center for Security and Resilience (CfSR) at the Stockholm School of Economics operates with a belief that a modern security approach needs to be competitive, economic, organizational, technological, and societal. CfSR is the neutral, interdisciplinary hub that brings together academia, business, government, and civil society to transform risks into opportunities and strengthen long-term competitiveness as the driver of resilience.

With increasing geopolitical tension, disrupted supply chains, cyber threats, and other vulnerabilities, our modern society faces multiple challenges - but with them lies the opportunity to strengthen our economies in peace, and by doing so, better prepare them for war. CfSR is designed to actively shape those new realities we face.

This logic directly reinforces SSE's mission: “To strengthen Sweden's competitiveness through scientific knowledge and science-based education” - making the school the right place to lead this work.
