CEMS Master in International Management (MIM)

The CEMS Master in International Management (CEMS MIM) is a one-year joint degree program offered by a global alliance of 33 leading business schools, more than 70 corporate partners, and eight social partners. SSE is the only member school in Sweden.

The CEMS Master in International Management (CEMS MIM) is available exclusively to students enrolled at one of the CEMS member schools. Jointly delivered by leading universities, multinational companies, and social partners, the program combines academic studies with practical international experience and prepares students for careers in a global environment.

Who can apply?

The CEMS MIM at SSE is open to:

  • Students enrolled in the MSc program in Accounting, Valuation and Financial Management
  • Students enrolled in the MSc program in Economics
  • Students enrolled in the MSc program in Finance
  • Students enrolled in the MSc program in International Business
  • Incoming CEMS exchange students nominated by another CEMS member school

How to join the CEMS MIM at SSE

There are two ways to participate in the program:

  1. Apply to the MSc program in International Business, which has the CEMS MIM integrated into its curriculum.
  2. Apply to one of the other eligible MSc programs at SSE and then apply separately to the CEMS MIM during the first semester of studies.

For students in the MSc program in International Business, many of the CEMS requirements are already integrated into the second year of the curriculum.

For students in the other eligible MSc programs, approximately half of the CEMS MIM requirements can overlap with your regular MSc studies. During the CEMS year, you typically spend one semester at SSE and one semester at another CEMS member school.

Two degrees upon graduation

Upon successful completion of the program, students receive both a Master of Science degree from SSE and the CEMS Master in International Management degree.

The CEMS MIM consists of several mandatory components, including:

  • Courses in Global Strategy and Global Leadership
  • CEMS elective courses, including a Data Analytics course
  • Business Project
  • Block Seminar
  • Global Citizenship Seminar
  • Skill Seminars, including self-leadership
