Breaking Down Business Problems with Accenture
Retail Management students in Accenture Retail Club practiced structuring and solving business cases during an interactive workshop with Accenture.
Employees at Accenture introduced students to different ways of approaching a case, including defining the problem using Situation, Complication and Question (SCQ). Students also learned how to use issue trees to break down a problem and apply the MECE principle to avoid overlaps and cover all relevant areas.
Working in teams, students then applied these tools to a case step by step. Each stage combined guidance from Accenture with group work, followed by discussions where students shared their answers and explained their reasoning.
A big thank you to Louise Loggarfve, Elliot Mankowitz, Elise Bonnier Eklund and Lisa Karlsson for sharing their insights and guiding us through the session, and to Ebba, our main contact throughout the course, for helping organize the workshop!
