Analyzing the future of Synsam's logistics strategy

Retail Management students in the Synsam Retail Club visited Synsam's B2C warehouse in Spånga, northwest of Stockholm, followed by a related workshop.

The purpose of the warehouse visit was to understand the processes that go into fulfilling customer online orders. Students received a presentation on how these processes differed from their B2B warehouse. A few weeks later, at the Synsam Hötorget Flagship Store and Office, the students used their prior study visit to assist in making a SWOT analysis of the different future alternatives Synsam could pursue to improve their logistics systems. 

Beyond the analyzis itself, the workshop gave students the chance to practice two skills: asking thoughtful questions to gather information and draw out different perspectives and applying what they learn to a concrete business case in a way that produces meaningful, useful conclusions.
