Throughout the spring and summer, the MSc Admissions team organizes a range of virtual and in-person events to help you prepare for your studies at SSE and your move to Stockholm. All upcoming events will be announced on this page.

Housing

In addition to the housing options available in Stockholm, SSE also collaborates with a housing provider offering apartments specifically for international Master students.

The apartments are located in Spånga, in northwestern Stockholm, and are fully furnished with private kitchens and bathrooms. The housing complex also includes shared social areas, study rooms, a gym, and a lecture hall. Grocery stores, restaurants, and sports facilities are located nearby.

Student residence permit

If you require a residence permit to study in Sweden, you should submit your application through the Swedish Migration Agency website as soon as possible, and no later than June 1, 2026.

Pre-registration

Pre-registration for the program takes place online. The pre-registration form will be available from June 1 to August 20, 2026, and the link will be sent to you by email.

As part of the process, you must complete the form, upload a signed copy of the Student Pledge, and confirm completion of your Bachelor's degree.

When arriving at SSE for the first time, you will also need to present a valid ID and collect your login details to access SSE’s digital systems and infrastructure.

Program start

Students who are new to SSE will begin their studies on August 26, 2026. The official program start date for all students is August 27, 2026.

During the first days, you will complete your registration, be introduced to the academic structure of the program, and meet fellow students, faculty, and staff. Please note that participation in the introduction activities is mandatory for all students.

Courses begin on August 31, 2026. The Student Association at the Stockholm School of Economics (SASSE) also organizes a range of social activities during the introduction period - a great opportunity to get to know other students and the SSE community.

Academic year 2026-2027

If your Bachelor's degree is not from SSE

Before enrolling in the MSc program, you must provide proof that you have completed your Bachelor degree.

Please prepare and scan the original version of your Bachelor diploma and official transcript of records. Make sure that all scanned documents are clear and of good quality. Alternatively, you may submit an official verifiable digital copy.

If the original documents are not issued in English or Swedish, you must also provide translations completed by an authorized translation agency.

You will be required to upload these documents as part of the online pre-registration process.

If you are completing your Bachelor's degree in 2026 and have not yet received your diploma, you must instead provide an official certificate from your home university confirming that all degree requirements have been completed. This certificate must be uploaded before the pre-registration closes in August.

Once your Bachelor diploma has been issued, you must also submit the diploma together with your official transcript of records to the MSc Admissions team by email no later than December 15, 2026.

It is beneficial if your university issues documents that can be verified online.

For BSc students or graduates from SSE

You must have completed all courses required for the BSc degree before the start of the Master program. Your eligibility will be verified before registration.

If you have not yet received your degree certificate, please upload your current transcript of records in the registration form. The transcript can be downloaded from the SSE intranet.

If you would like to participate in the BSc graduation ceremony, you must apply for your BSc degree certificate no later than September 11, 2026.

Students who do not plan to attend the graduation ceremony must apply for the degree certificate no later than December 15, 2026.

Lifelong connections at SSE

Even before starting your MSc studies, we would like to introduce a few resources and opportunities that may be valuable as you prepare for your time at SSE.

At SSE, we aim to build connections that last a lifetime. Alumni play an important role in the life of the School as engaged supporters, ambassadors, mentors, and lifelong learners who contribute to and benefit from the SSE community and network.

Career support at SSE

As an SSE student, you will have access to our SSE Career Hub - a career platform featuring part-time jobs, internships, and graduate opportunities. The platform also includes information about upcoming career events, interactive tools such as CV support and mock interviews, and the possibility to book individual coaching sessions.

The Career Management team supports students throughout their professional development and career planning. You can already follow the team on LinkedIn and learn more about SSE’s career support on the website. We also encourage you to explore the MSc Mentorship Program.

Access to the full range of career services and tools will be available once you are enrolled as a student.

Residence in Sweden after graduation

Students who hold a residence permit for higher education studies in Sweden may apply for a residence permit after graduation to seek employment or explore opportunities to start a business in Sweden. This permit is currently granted for up to 12 months.

Although all programs at SSE are taught entirely in English - and English is widely spoken throughout Sweden - many international students choose to learn some Swedish to feel more connected to everyday life in Stockholm and Swedish society.

The Swedish Institute offers a range of helpful resources, language tools, and study tips for students who would like to begin learning Swedish before arriving in Sweden or continue improving their skills during their studies.

SSE also offers Swedish language courses at different levels for students who would like to learn the language while studying at the School.

Even a basic understanding of Swedish can make it easier to navigate daily life, meet new people, and gain additional insights into Swedish culture and society.
