Center for Sports and Business shares research at Coachforum on Limnos

The Center for Sports and Business participated in the Swedish Olympic Committee’s Coachforum on Limnos, bringing research into dialogue with elite coaches and sporting leaders. Through the Swedish Olympic Academy collaboration, the forum offered an opportunity to exchange experiences, explore shared organisational challenges and introduce the Center’s Nästa Steg initiative.

The Center for Sports and Business joined elite coaches, sporting leaders and academic experts at the Swedish Olympic Committee’s Coachforum on Limnos to exchange insights on the development of sport and organisations.

Represented by Fanny Almersson and Anna Laurell Nash OLY, the Center for Sports and Business participated in the forum as part of its involvement in the Swedish Olympic Academy (SOA).

SOA is a collaboration between the Stockholm School of Economics, Karolinska Institutet, KTH Royal Institute of Technology and the Swedish Olympic Committee (SOK). Coachforum brings together elite coaches and leaders from different sports with academics and experts, creating opportunities to share experiences, explore common challenges and learn from one another.

Connecting sporting and organisational development

During the forum, the Center presented its research and discussed how different organisational logics - the priorities and approaches that guide different parts of an organisation - need to align to support long-term development in both sport and business.

The conversations provided an opportunity to explore these questions alongside people working in elite sport. Participants shared experiences across sporting disciplines, offering new perspectives on shared challenges and opportunities.

Introducing Nästa Steg

The Center also introduced Nästa Steg, an initiative that brings together high-performing individuals from sport and the Swedish Armed Forces to learn from one another. The initiative provides a setting for exchanging experiences across two demanding professional environments.

The Center for Sports and Business thanks the participating coaches and SOK’s support team for their valuable insights, thoughtful contributions and engaging conversations. The perspectives shared at Coachforum will inform the Center’s continuing work.
