CIVIC NEXT – Cultivating Initiative, Vision, Impact, and Collaboration – brings together SITE, the European Humanities University in Lithuania, and the School for International Civic Education in Latvia. The project focuses on democracy, human rights, the rule of law, civic participation, and responding to disinformation and hybrid threats.

“Strong democracies depend on people who have the knowledge, networks, and confidence to participate and make a difference. CIVIC NEXT gives emerging civic leaders an opportunity to learn from each other across borders and turn that knowledge into practical civic engagement. In a region where democratic institutions are under pressure, building these connections matters more than ever,” says Jesper Roine, Deputy Director of SITE.

Building skills and connections across borders

CIVIC NEXT will bring participants together through seminars, conferences, and other activities focused on democratic development and civic engagement. Participants will connect with experts, mentors, researchers, and democratic institutions across the region.

SITE will coordinate and support the project, contributing its expertise in policy research and the region’s political and economic transition.
