Sport has never been more global, commercial or closely followed. New markets and stakeholders are emerging, financial interests are growing, and the conditions for leading and developing sport are changing.
At the same time, much of Swedish sport is founded on member democracy, voluntary engagement and a strong tradition of grassroots movements. What happens when the Swedish sports model encounters an increasingly global and commercial sporting world?
In the next edition of CSB Omvärld*, we will focus on Good Governance and explore what sound governance and responsible leadership mean in a changing sporting world.
How can we balance democracy and participation with the ability to act and drive development? What can the Swedish sports movement learn from international developments - and which aspects of the Swedish model are important to preserve and strengthen?
Participants:
- Professor Martin Carlsson-Wall, Center for Sports and Business, Stockholm School of Economics
- Anna Iwarsson, President, Swedish Sports Confederation
- Simon Åström, President, Swedish Football Association
- Marie-Anne Lindhardt, Attorney and Partner, MAQS Law Firm
Moderator: Anna Laurell Nash, Center for Sports and Business, Stockholm School of Economics
