The House of Innovation (HOI) at the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) is inviting applications for the PhD program in Business Administration, specialization in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Technology (DEIT).

The Stockholm School of Economics has received funding from the Swedish Research Council to bring world-leading scholar Professor Kalle Lyytinen from Case Western Reserve University, USA, to the House of Innovation. Jaakko Meriläinen, a political economist specializing in democratic governance and development, has been granted tenure and promoted to Associate Professor at the Stockholm School of Economics. The promotion reflects his valuable contributions to research, teaching, and academic service.

Latvia is facing growing divisions over a political push to withdraw from the main international treaty to combat violence against women, as outlined in a new policy brief by Pamela Campa (SITE) and Kata Fredheim (SSE Riga). The brief explains how a debate over the word “gender” escalated into mass protests, political fractures, and concerns about Latvia’s international standing. Meanwhile, data show that violence against women in Latvia is a serious concern and societal support for legislation to combat it is high.
