United Students to deliver care package to Ukrainian refugees
On Thursday, March 3, four students will travel from SSE via Germany to Medyka, located in southeastern Poland at the Ukrainian border. The students will travel by truck together with two drivers to deliver 13 tons of necessary supplies to Ukrainian refugees.
Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians are being displaced and many are fleeing into neighboring Poland via the border crossing at Medyka, Poland. A group of SSE students have come together and quickly mobilized in an effort to support Ukrainian refugees on site in Medyka, where people crossing the border have to wait for over 60 hours to enter.
Support the care package drive
The United Students group have partnered with a freight company and are looking for companies interested in covering the cost of their trip to the southeastern Polish city of Medyka.
Primarily, the students are looking for companies willing to support their cause by covering the costs of the freight partner. These costs consist of one truck, two drivers, fuel and customs, which equates to roughly 100,000 SEK. They are looking for companies willing to cover 5,000 or 10,000 chunks of the cost and the freight company will invoice directly.
In the case of receiving additional individual donations that surpass the needed amount, the students will distribute the funds as directly as possible to the women and child refugees they meet in Medyka.
If you or your company would like to contribute, please see the details below.
