Research grant from BFUF to Alexandra Nicolina Erling’s study of young workers in the hotel industry
Alexandra Nicolina Erling has been awarded SEK 1.4 million from BFUF (the R&D Fund of the Swedish Tourism & Hospitality Industry) for a research project examining how young employees and managers experience their work in the hotel industry.
The aim of the project, titled “Mer än ett tillfälligt jobb? Unga medarbetare, unga chefer och vägar till kvarstannande i hotellbranschen”, is to examine how young employees and managers (up to the age of 35) working in guest-facing hotel operations experience and shape their work. The researchers will analyse what makes work meaningful to individuals and how this is reflected in the way work is shaped and carried out in practice.
The project is being carried out at the Stockholm School of Economics Institute for Research (SIR).
