The House of Innovation and Stockholm Music Week co-hosted “The Future of Music,” bringing together music executives, artists, technology leaders, researchers, and policymakers to examine how AI, shifting platform economics, and new models of rights and ownership are reshaping one of Sweden's most globally significant industries.
Sweden is one of only four net music-exporting nations in the world. The same ecosystem that produced Max Martin and Avicii also produced Spotify and Epidemic Sound.
But the forces reshaping the industry, AI, shifting platform economics, new models for rights and ownership, are moving fast. The question is no longer whether the industry will change, but who will be in the room when the terms are set.
To discuss this, Stockholm Music Week and the SSE House of Innovation convened a half-day program bringing together music executives, technology and business leaders, researchers, creators, politicians, and investors.
On stage, Björn Ulvaeus, Benjamin Ingrosso, Karin Winther and more were joined by voices from global powerhouses such as Dolby, YouTube, Google and Epidemic Sound.
