"Assessing the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement"
We are pleased to invite you to a seminar presenting the findings of the independent ex-post evaluation study of the EU–Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), initiated by the Directorate-General for Trade and Economic Security (DG TRADE).
In force since 1 February 2019, the EPA is one of the EU’s largest and most ambitious trade agreements. The study assesses its economic, social, environmental and human-rights impacts, as well as its effectiveness, efficiency and contribution to sustainable development.
The EU and Japan are major economic partners with shared interests in open, rules-based and resilient trade. At a time of growing global uncertainty, closer collaboration is increasingly important for strengthening supply chains, supporting innovation and advancing the green and digital transitions. The seminar will provide an opportunity to discuss the EPA’s achievements and how deeper EU–Japan cooperation can unlock further benefits for businesses, consumers and society.
