GELS Tijmen

GELS Scholarship Holder 2026

Student Tijmen Duivenvoorden has been awarded the Gun and Einar Larsson Stiftelse Scholarship 2026 (GELS) for his project “Feeding Futures in South Africa”.

He has had a long-standing interest in understanding how systemic factors like access to nutrition shape individual well-being. Moreover, he aims to develop a playbook for schools in South Africa to bridge the gap between policy and local implementation of school meal programs, in order to contribute to educational outcomes, health, and community development, especially in under resourced areas.

My project seeks to close the gap between national policy and sustainable local action. It will stand as a living model of shared responsibility for nutrition, transforming my academic commitment to health, education, and social equity into tangible, community-driven change.
