Join us for a House of Sustainable Society breakfast seminar featuring Charles C.Y. Wang, Tandon Family Professor of Business Administration and MBA Curriculum Chair at Harvard Business School, who will discuss "The Promise and Peril of AI in Financial Analysis: From Robo-Analysts to Large Language Models."
Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing how financial analysis is conducted. But how far can large language models really go, and where do their limits lie? In this session, we will examine how AI tools are transforming fundamental analysis, from navigating complex corporate disclosures to extracting insights from vast volumes of financial data. The session will explore what works, what does not, and the risks analysts need to understand when applying AI in finance.
The seminar will take place in room Ragnar at the Stockholm School of Economics from 08:00 to 09:00, with breakfast served from 07:30.
About the speaker
Charles C.Y. Wang is the MBA Curriculum Chair at Harvard Business School and the Tandon Family Professor of Business Administration.
His research and teaching focus on corporate governance and valuation. In the MBA program, he has taught Financial Reporting and Control in the required curriculum – serving as course head for three years – and Business Analysis and Valuation in the elective curriculum.
His award-winning research on corporate governance and valuation has been published in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Accounting and Economics, and The Accounting Review. He has also published in leading practitioner and general-interest outlets such as Harvard Business Review, The Wall Street Journal, and The Boston Globe.
