The critical role of team dynamics in entrepreneurial success - 18 Nov 2025

The House of Innovation hosted a breakfast seminar with the Erling Persson Visiting Professor Frederic Delmar, who explored how team dynamics shape entrepreneurial success. The session offered practitioners research based perspectives on how teamwork, trust and adaptability support the growth and resilience of new ventures.

New venture teams (NVTs) are at the heart of entrepreneurship, driving the creation and management of ventures that hold significant economic potential. Yet these teams operate in an environment defined by high risk, uncertainty, and limited resources. Professor Frédéric Delmar will discuss how a venture’s success may depend not only on who is part of the team but also on the quality of teamwork, trust, and the team’s ability to adapt over time.

Drawing on international research from China, France, Sweden, Denmark, and Russia, Frédéric explored how teamwork forms the foundation for growth, competitive advantage, and resilience, making it a critical factor in navigating the challenges of early-stage ventures.

During the session, Frédéric shared insights into how entrepreneurs and investors can better understand the fragile balance between collaboration and instability in new ventures. He also highlighted how interpersonal relations, key events, and strategic team stability shape long-term performance, offering practical implications for those building or supporting ventures in high-risk environments.

This was an excellent opportunity for entrepreneurs, investors, business leaders, and professionals interested in strengthening team dynamics and driving innovation within their organizations.
