Magnus Tyreman appointed new Chair of Stockholm School of Economics

Magnus Tyreman is the new Chair of the Board of the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) from January 1, 2024. Tyreman succeeds Laurent Leksell, who ended his meritorious six-year term as the Chair of the Board of SSE at year-end.

“As the founder of SSE, the Stockholm School of Economics Association (SSE Association) feels confident that Magnus Tyreman, with his experience and perspectives, will be a positive force and contribute to ensuring SSE’s long-term development. I would also like to thank the former Chair, Laurent Leksell, for his many years of service and commitment to SSE,” says Jacob Wallenberg, Chair of the SSE Association.

Magnus Tyreman was previously the Managing Partner of McKinsey Europe and a member of McKinsey’s global leadership team. He holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from SSE and has also studied economics at Fundaçáo Getulio Vargas in Brazil.

“I accept this assignment with great enthusiasm. In recent years, SSE has made huge progress, and I hope to continue working on these important developments together with other members of the Board of Directors,” says Magnus Tyreman.
