Highlights from the event "Support the future of Ukraine"

The world is darkened by Russia´s terrifying and tragic war against Ukraine. The Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) together with the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE) and the Embassy of Ukraine in Sweden hosted a fundraising event and discussion on how to provide intellectual and humanitarian support to faculty members, researchers, and students working within and outside Ukraine’s borders.

On 19 April 2022, SSE together with SITE and the Embassy of Ukraine in Sweden hosted a fundraising event "Support the future of Ukraine". The event launched the fundraising initiative "Friends of KSE" founded by Torbjörn Becker, Anna-Maria Svahn and Caroline Fasth, to support fellow students, academics and faculty members at the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE).

Tetra Laval will donate €500,000 to the Friends of KSE Foundation

During the event, Tetra Laval announced a contribution of €500,000 to Friends of KSE Charitable Foundation to promote education and scientific research for Ukrainians.

”Tetra Laval is glad to have been invited to become an inaugural sponsor of Friends of Kyiv School of Economics. We have joined the many voices who are calling for an immediate ceasefire and for Ukraine to remain a democratic and sovereign country. Since the war started, we have through different means, primarily for and with our customers, made significant humanitarian contributions. With our donation tonight of EUR 500 000 we want to look ahead, send a signal, a signal to the future of Ukraine. We hope that many will follow us and contribute to this friendship arrangement between SITE, HHS and KSE, and that Kyiv School of Economics will become an engine for a new future.”

We would like to express our gratitude to the representatives of Tetra Laval for their generous donation and high trust in the work of Friends of KSE Charitable Foundation.

Thank you

We would like to take the opportunity to thank all the participants who joined online and in person to support this initiative. Special thanks to our speakers and the students from SSE, SSE Riga and KSE for sharing your insights, comments and personal experiences:
