These tracks aren't just add-ons; they are the defining features of your education.
Applied Retail Track (ART)
A three-year collaboration with leading retail companies — this is where theory meets practice. From the moment you join the program, you become a member of a Retail Club: a group of 15–20 students deliberately mixed across Year 1, Year 2, and Year 3. This cross-year setup is intentional — you learn both from each other and from the companies themselves.
Every year, your Retail Club works with a real partner company on real strategic challenges. It is not only simulation; it is also live engagement where you are expected to deliver genuine value. The annual program with your company includes 4 hands-on workshops on site at the company where you dig into real problems. It also features 1 theme lecture that connects industry trends to your Retail Club activities.
For Year 2 students, the program includes a dedicated career module designed to help you map your professional path.
For Year 3 students, it culminates in the Company Project, where you develop and present operational strategies for real retail partners. You will integrate everything you have learned, with increasing complexity as the years go by, and build a strong professional network along the way. Standout students often land internships and graduate roles with these very organizations.
Antonia Ax:son Johnson Tutorial Program
This is your structured personal development journey! Based on the Stockholm School of Economics’ pedagogical mission FREE — which summarizes the qualities and competencies students are expected to develop by graduation — the program combines intimate one-to-one sessions with your personal tutor and group discussions within your Retail Club. While the Applied Retail Track engages you with the business world, this program engages you with yourself.
Over the course of the three years, you will have 12 tutorial sessions with your tutor — both individual and in group, focused conversations that give you the space to reflect on your growth, challenge your assumptions, and develop your personal leadership philosophy at your own pace. Alongside these, group discussions in your Retail Club bring different perspectives into the room, making the reflections richer and more dynamic.
Professional excellence requires self-awareness, ethical clarity, and the capacity to learn from experience. Here, you will examine your biases, build your ethical compass, and develop the kind of self-knowledge that no lecture can teach. By graduation, you won't just know what to do; you will know who you are as a professional.
