About the artist
Roda Abdalle (b. 1993, Somalia) is a Somali-Swedish artist and filmmaker whose multidisciplinary practice spans a range of media, with a particular focus on moving images and textiles. At the time of the exhibition, she was in her fourth year of Fine Arts studies at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm.
Abdalle’s artistic research explores the complex interconnections between geographical locations, scents, specific spaces and the passage of time. Her work examines temporality, the nomadic room, in-between moments and the idea of objects as temporal markers.
