Bella Rune: Konsekvensanalys för Handelshögskolan, 2018

Using an app titled konsekvensanalys, developed by the artist, visitors can interact with the artwork through their mobile phones. By directing the camera toward the portraits of Eli Heckscher and Bertil Ohlin by Fritjof Schuldt, Rune’s virtual layer appears and places the historical figures in a new context.

The project Konsekvensanalys has been presented at exhibitions including Stadsskogen in Uppsala, Konstmuseet i Norr in Kiruna, Tensta Konsthall in Stockholm, and Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow.

SSE has two permanent site-specific installations from the Konsekvensanalys project: one in the Heckscher-Ohlin Room and one in the Board Room (Konsekvensanalys for the Board Room at the Stockholm School of Economics, 2016). Both works are part of the SSE Permanent Collection.

Konsekvensanalys för Handelshögskolan references the legend of William Tell, the Swiss folk hero known for shooting an apple placed on his son’s head. The story was also depicted in Salvador Dalí’s painting L’Énigme de Guillaume Tell. In Bella Rune’s interpretation, Eli Heckscher shoots an arrow while Bertil Ohlin balances an apple on his head.
