Martin Wickström: The Union

Martin Wickström’s The Union (2017) depicts the former Student Association building at Holländargatan 32 in Stockholm. Today, the building houses External Relations at the Stockholm School of Economics, where the painting is displayed.

The work reflects an important part of SSE’s history and serves as a visual link between the School’s past and present. Through its depiction of the former student union building, The Union highlights the role of student life and community within the development of SSE.

The Union is part of the SSE art collection thanks to a generous donation from Sebastian Knutsson, Niklas Adalberth, Sebastian Siemiatkowski, Richard Båge, John and Louise Hedberg, Magnus Tyreman, Mikael Robertson, David Frykman, Johan Ihrfelt, Jonas Svensson, and Lisa Wallmark.
