Jacob Dahlgren: Arise

Jacob Dahlgren is an artist whose work often incorporates everyday, mass-produced objects, both domestic and industrial. He continuously explores geometric and abstract patterns found in the surrounding world.

Dahlgren also uses Instagram as an extension of his artistic practice. Since 2001, he has documented his ongoing project Peinture Abstraite, in which he wears a striped T-shirt every day. The project can be followed on Instagram: @jacob_dahlgren.

Jacob Dahlgren is also the artist behind the Jacob Dahlgren Room, an art-integrated classroom at SSE inaugurated in 2021.

Born in Stockholm in 1970, Dahlgren lives and works in the city. He received his MFA from the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm in 1999. In 2007, he represented Sweden at the 52nd Venice Biennale.
