The film Hotell Longstay by Niki Lindroth von Bahr consists of a dreamlike sequence in what appears to be a generic hotel in a world of anthropomorphic fish creatures. The film is a part of the longer film Min börda (My Burden), set to be released 2017. The filmic universe that Niki Lindroth von Bahr has created, using stop motion technique, features several animal species that perform self-reflective musical numbers on today’s human status and existential anxiety. Their solution has been to check in to the hotel Longstay, a place that forms a backdrop to the larger themes of labor, life and the difficulty of human and biological flourishing. Musical lyrics was written by Martin Luuk, voice overs by humor collective Klungan and Hans Appelqvist is the composer.
Niki Lindroth von Bahr is a Swedish filmmaker and artist. She graduated from The Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm in 2016 and has previously studied animation and experimental filmmaking. Her debut film En natt i Moskva (A Night in Moscow) was a short film made in 2008 and her next film was Tord och Tord (Tord and Tord) in 2011. The latter has been featured internationally and has been awarded several awards as well as a nomination for a Swedish Guldbagge Award. Her third film Min börda, is scheduled for release in 2017.

Niki Lindroth von Bahr's Hotell Longstay is a dreamlike sequence set in a generic hotel populated by anthropomorphic fish. Made in stop motion, it belongs to the longer film Min börda (My Burden), in which animals perform self-reflective musical numbers about work, existential dread, and the difficulty of flourishing at all.
