Maria Miesenberger: Change of Direction

Maria Miesenberger’s Change of Direction (2015), made of patinated bronze and steel, is displayed in the entrance hall of House of Innovation at Norrtullsgatan 2.

Change of Direction is one of two sculptures by Maria Miesenberger in the SSE Permanent Collection. The other, Leap of Faith (Getting Over), is installed in the atrium of the School’s main building at Sveavägen 65.

Maria Miesenberger (born 1965 in Lund, Sweden) lives and works in Stockholm. She studied photography and painting at Konstfack in Stockholm and sculpture at Parsons School of Design in New York. Between 1995 and 2003, she lived and worked in New York.

Miesenberger has exhibited extensively in Sweden and internationally. Her works are represented in public collections including Moderna Museet, the Hasselblad Foundation, Malmö Konstmuseum, and the Public Art Agency Sweden.

Change of Direction was donated to the Stockholm School of Economics by Ylva Cavalli-Björkman and Willard Ahdritz.
