CEMS, XTM and Live Projects

Our faculty regularly supervise MBI Live Projects, CEMS, and XTM projects. Please feel free to get in touch if you are interested in doing a project within the domain of sports.

CEMS projects

The CEMS Master in International Management (MIM) is a one-year joint degree program offered by a consortium of 34 leading business schools, more than 70 corporate partners, and eight social partners around the world. The Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) is the only school in Sweden that is a member of CEMS.

Within CEMS, students must carry out a business project accounting for 15 ECTS credits. Business projects reinforce the partnership between universities and companies by jointly shaping the students’ learning process in international management. They are consultancy-like projects designed as real-life learning experiences: international teams solve a real business problem as a one-term, part-time activity.

Executive Trainee Module (XTM)

The MSc Executive Trainee Module (XTM) is SSE’s response to the growing demand for practical learning integrated into traditional academic training, emphasizing the strategic dimensions that are important in today’s organizations.

XTM includes 80 days of full-time trainee work and 20 days of case writing and XTM classes at SSE. The program is offered in most MSc programs during semester 3. To participate, students must be selected by one of the XTM partner companies.

Previous XTM

Yao Cai and Jakob Hammarskjöld (2020). Star player vs. team spirit: managing digitalization in Swedish male professional football (FöreningenSvensk Elitfotboll).

MBI Live Projects

The MSc in Business Innovation (MBI) program teaches students to manage, lead, and develop businesses. A large part of the pedagogy is therefore based on real-life projects in courses so that all aspects of problem-solving are present.

The Live Project module builds on the idea that students need to turn theory into practice to grow both academically and professionally. It is a valuable learning platform for both students and organizations hosting a student group.

The project runs parallel with courses. Students work on their projects for about one day per week for seven to eight weeks.

We offer companies and organizations the opportunity to participate in the following courses:

Fall projects

Live Project in Business Development (September–late October)

Joint Live Project in Operations Strategy and Management Control (late October–mid-December)

Spring project

Live Project in Digital Transformation (late March–mid-May)
