Next Step – your bridge to the future

Next Step is an introductory course for individuals with a background in elite sports or the Swedish Armed Forces who are facing or are in the middle of a career transition. The program aims to inspire, provide tools for sustainable performance development, and support participants in taking the next step in their careers.

Next Step is a collaboration between Neste Steg Norway and the Center for Sports and Business at the Stockholm School of Economics, through the Swedish Olympic Academy.

Next Step really made me pause and reflect - something I need to get better at in everyday life. It gave me perspective and a new direction forward.

Shared values – shared strength

Elite sports and the Swedish Armed Forces share several fundamental values—courage, purpose, and ambition. In both worlds, performance culture, teamwork, self-leadership, and mental resilience are crucial. By bringing together sports and defense, participants gain the opportunity to learn from each other's methods while developing a deeper understanding of their own.

Valuable even for individuals already working with personal development. One of the best courses I have taken.

Two days that make a difference

During two intensive days, you will work both individually and together with other participants in similar life and career stages. You will take part in lectures from individuals who have successfully made career transitions, reflect on your drivers and competencies, and gain concrete tools to navigate your next step—whether it involves development in your current role or a new direction.

I recommend all elite athletes, both those facing a transition and those who want to continue developing, to take Next Step. The course is beneficial even during an ongoing elite career.
