Åsa

When Åsa Svensson started playing tennis at age seven, her goal was not to become one of Sweden’s best tennis players of all time; she simply loved the sport. By the time she turned 15, however, she decided to pursue her sports career fully, and at age 21, she reached a world ranking of 28. Svensson won two singles titles and seven doubles titles on the WTA Tour, three singles titles and six doubles titles on the ITF circuit, and reached the fourth round at the 2000 French Open. She won three Swedish Championship gold medals, two of them in singles. Since ending her tennis career at age 30, she has worked as a talent developer and regional manager at the Swedish Tennis Association, as a commentator for Eurosport, and has opened two padel courts in Västerås.
