Daniel Tjernqvist is a former ice hockey player who began his career with Vännäs HK. He later played in the SHL with Rögle before winning the Finnish league with Jokerit. In 2001, he moved to the NHL, where he played for the Atlanta Thrashers, Colorado Avalanche, Minnesota Wild, and Edmonton Oilers. He also spent three seasons in the Russian KHL and the German DEL. Tjernqvist won Olympic gold in 2006 and played in five World Championships, earning two silver and two bronze medals. Today, he works as a professional coach.
