Mikael Samuelsson played in the Swedish Elite League for clubs including Södertälje SK, Frölunda HC, and Brynäs IF. In 2000, he moved to the NHL, where he played for the San Jose Sharks, New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Florida Panthers, Detroit Red Wings, and Vancouver Canucks. In 2006, he won both Olympic gold and World Championship gold with Sweden. Following his Stanley Cup win in 2008, he became a member of the Triple Gold Club. Samuelsson retired in 2015 and has since worked as a commentator.
