In 2010, Axel Bäck was named “Årets stjärnskott” (Rookie of the Year) by Swedish alpine journalists. He made his World Cup debut at age 22 and was soon selected for the Swedish Olympic team. In total, he made 66 World Cup starts and competed in two Olympic Games and one World Championship. His achievements include several top 10 finishes in the World Cup, including a second place in Kranjska Gora, as well as multiple European Cup wins and two Swedish Championship titles. He retired in 2016.
