Interview
Why is education important?
In my case, it revolves around me going from being an athlete to becoming an ex-athlete. I simply felt the need to create something new. I am pretty confident that I would find a good job anyway, but with more education, I can access a bigger arena.
Why did you choose to participate in the MBA program?
When I got information regarding the program, it felt right. I am interested in management, and I have experience both as a formal and informal leader; thus, combining it with economics seemed great. Besides, it is only a year-long program that suits my family and me.
What is your impression of the early phases of the course?
So far, very positive.
Are there any differences from what you had expected?
I am surprised how well the participants get along. It is perhaps not surprising that we, all being athletes, have much in common; however, there are 18 people from the business sector. There is an openness and generosity within the group that is amazing.
What is your recommendation to a person deciding whether or not to pursue an education?
If you get the opportunity, you should definitely take it. At the same time, you should be aware that it is a bet. It is primarily your own commitment that decides how much utility you gain from the program, but if you are ready to participate and be open, it is fantastic.
