Workshop on Clas Ohlson as a Service Provider

The workshop was about exploring possibilities for Clas Ohlson to be a full-solution provider for simplifying life in all kinds of homes.

The workshop was held by Emma Ahlström (Consumer Insight Specialist), Lovisa, Sam, and Erik.

First, the representatives started by giving the students a brief about the current situation at Clas Ohlson and how they are aiming to be a full-solution provider in the future. A part of this goal is to expand its offering to cover home-related services. Clas Ohlson is currently transforming to be a convenient full-solution provider. They believe that a complete solution for customers can be an opportunity where they can have a unique positioning in the market.

The students were then divided into four groups. Each group was assigned to have a look into different services offerings (organizing homes, helping to move, cleaning services, repairing and reusing). All of the groups needed to make suggestions, including target market, brand positioning, go-to-market plan, and any other relevant aspect for any of those offerings.

The final ideas were presented as PowerPoint presentations. After each presentation questions were asked by Clas Ohlson employees, as well as by fellow students from the other groups. Some of the suggestions were cleaning services that go beyond cleaning just the inside of your home to also include things such as window- and roof cleaning. The last group suggested giving away old products, which Clas Ohlson then refurbishes and resells on an online platform.
