SSE launches new Center for Resilient Health

The recently launched Center for Resilient Health at the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) is a multidisciplinary research center dedicated to advancing academic inquiry into the future of health policy and health and social care.

The Center for Resilient Health brings together researchers across SSE’s world-leading academic departments with affiliated scholars from other universities.

“We conduct research and provide education on health and social care innovations, improved healthcare systems, inclusive access to quality healthcare and a sustainable life sciences sector. Our vision is to help driving positive change in healthcare for the betterment of communities worldwide,” says Karl Wennberg, Professor at the Center for Resilient Health.

The new Center for Resilient Health at SSE was established in collaboration with AstraZeneca.

“At AstraZeneca, we are extremely happy and proud to initiate this long-term collaboration with the House of Governance and Public Policy at the Stockholm School of Economics and form a Center for Resilient Health,” says Anna-Lena Engwall, Country President Nordic at AstraZeneca.

“There is a lot of pressure on the Swedish healthcare services today due to demographic challenges, limited resources and staff shortages. At the same time, scientific developments are moving forward rapidly with innovative treatments that will change healthcare fundamentally. This will require new ways of working, with new structures and collaborations, as well as a greater focus on prevention. Supported by insights and actions, I’m convinced that the House of Governance and Public Policy can build knowledge and networks, thereby contributing to the solutions to many of these challenges. At AstraZeneca, we look forward to contributing in any way we can,” says Engwall.
