Erik Wetter to board of Partnership in statistics for development

Misum´s Erik Wetter has been elected to join the board of the Partnership in Statistics for Development in the 21st Century (PARIS21).  

PARIS21 was founded in November 1999 by the United Nations, the European Commission, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the World Bank. It´s role is to promote better use and production of data and statistics throughout the developing world.

The current mandate is strengthening coordination around support for national capacity building strategies, ensure sufficient funding for data production needs in general and with regard to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in particular, and help countries adapt to the data science revolution.

 The PARIS21 Board includes 50 representatives from developing countries from all regions of the world, as well as from bilateral donors and international organisations. Erik Wetter has been elected for the period 2018-2020.
