Sustainability at Coop

The Coop Retail Club had a workshop about Sustainability.

Mattis Bergquist, Head of Sustainability at Coop, led a workshop on the complexities and abstract nature of implementing sustainable practices at a grocery store level. He spoke about systemic change, i.e, the need for overarching changes like regulations and consumer behavior. The students then formed teams to brainstorm such systemic changes towards meat consumption from Coop's perspective, and came forth with multiple ideas, such as “Start with a nudge”, shelf spacing strategies and marketing motives. The presentations sparked a comprehensive conversation on the topic of sustainability at large, which Mattis guided with expertise and students developed with a range of opinions.
