Merchandising at H&M

H&M's Retail Club had a workshop about merchandising.

Rasmus Wallmark, Merchandise Manager, and Jenny Lundmark, Supply Chain Manager at H&M, held a presentation about merchandising practices and what role it has within the operations of H&M. Creating the best customer offer, optimising the stock and driving sales is the three top tasks for the merchandising department. During the workshop, the students were asked to come up with solutions to a case about how to optimise the assortment depending on different store concepts, locations and KPI's. Most of the suggestions presented by the students was to reallocate specific assortment based upon their share of selling and total spin in order to optimise sales.
