Alum and Young Alum of the Year Awards 2024
For the seventh consecutive year, the Stockholm School of Economics honors outstanding graduates with the Alum of the Year Award and the Young Alum of the Year Award. In 2024, the awards go to Lovisa Hamrin, Chair of The Hamrin Foundation and owner and chair of Herenco, and Oscar Rundqvist, co-founder and CEO of eComID.

Lovisa Hamrin, Chair of The Hamrin Foundation and owner and chair of Herenco.
Lovisa Hamrin earned her MSc in Economics and Business from the Stockholm School of Economics in 1998. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated curiosity and creativity in driving positive societal change.
As chair of The Hamrin Foundation and a key figure at Herenco, she has helped transform the family-owned company, founded in 1865, through a forward-looking vision: “Always create future.” Under her leadership, Herenco has evolved beyond its traditional newspaper roots. Through The Hamrin Foundation, Lovisa has invested more than SEK 330 million in educational and cultural initiatives that connect academia, society, and industry. Her support for the SSE Art Initiative reflects her commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration.
Lovisa’s journey inspires others to use their talents to contribute to society. We celebrate her contributions and her dedication to fostering innovation.

I am Superhappy and Grateful. I had to sit back and reflect on your motivations. To contribute back on the Art Initiative and where it has taken SSE the last 10 years – that is an honour itself. The other part is more surrealistic. I just did what I thought was necessary to give Herenco a new starting point to stay relevant for the future. Being engaged with SSE brings so much inspiration. Young Alum of the Year Award 2024
Oscar Rundqvist, co-founder and CEO of eComID.
Oscar Rundqvist earned his BSc in Business and Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics in 2016. His career reflects resilience and creativity in the startup landscape. Before co-founding eComID, he worked at H&M, Lazard, and Hitta.se.
In 2023, Oscar co-founded eComID to address a major challenge in retail: online returns. As CEO, he has led the development of an AI solution that helps companies reduce return rates by encouraging more informed purchasing decisions. eComID now reaches more than one million customers daily and contributes to a more sustainable retail environment by reducing waste.
Oscar represents the values and ambitions of the SSE community through his resilience, commitment to innovation, and focus on sustainable trade.

The Alum of the Year Award honors graduates of the Stockholm School of Economics for their professional achievements, contributions to society, and support of the School. The Young Alum of the Year Award honors graduates who completed their studies around 10 years ago or less and who have made significant contributions to their field while serving as inspirational examples for future alumni.
