Alfredo Jaar, born in Santiago de Chile, living and working in New York City is an artist, architect and filmmaker dealing with contemporary issues. He challenges basic assumptions of the western world by engaging with the public, using space and whichever media best serves the cause. According to Jaar art is communication. A dialogue.

Welcome to an art talk about how to make a difference. Or can we even make a difference? What drives Alfredo Jaar to keep on going even when things are progressing slowly? Why should we care? And why are neither images nor language innocent?

We will hear Jaar talk about his most well-known projects as well as most recent ones.

Let’s gather for an hour and look beyond the exam period. What drives us and how can we make a difference?

A light lunch will be served.
