Center for Media and Economic Psychology

CeMEP has two main seemingly disparate focuses: research on media issues and studies in economic psychology.

Many studies at the Center, however, uses economic psychological theories and methods in the study of media related issues, as well as applying it to other areas. Thus three main types of studies can be discerned:

  1. Studies where the focus is on media issues, such as analyses of the industry’s or related industries’ development and issues related to media as vehicles for marketing.
  2. Studies where the focus is on economic psychology, such as the (social) psychology of information processing, judgments, decision making, expectations and negotiations.
  3. Studies where economic psychology is applied in different areas such as branding and corporate image, diversity and gender equality, sports or risk management.

CeMEP is a research center at SIR, Stockholm School of Economics Institute for Research. The SIR Foundation is a national research institute for the economic sciences, with a focus on Business Administration in the broadest sense.
