In the second year, you will be able to choose one of the opportunities listed above. If you decide to stay in Sweden, you have the opportunity to take electives at SSE (including courses from the Data Analytics Track), the Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship (SSES) or within the Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM). Alternatively, you could apply for the Executive Trainee Module and gain hands-on experiences at one of our partner companies.

If you prefer to study abroad for one semester, you have the chance to apply for the CEMS Master in International Management, Wallenberg International Fellows Program or a regular student exchange with any of our partner universities.

An overview of all MSc program components of the second year are listed here.
Please keep in mind that this landing page lists all available program components on the MSc level. Have a look at the list above to find out what options you may choose from when you are enrolled in this particular MSc program.

During the second year, you will also write your Master thesis (30 ECTS) within the area of accounting where you have significant influence on the chosen topic. The Master thesis is viewed as an opportunity for you to take the next step towards a future job by choosing a subject that will lead to further specialization within one of the key areas (financial accounting, management control or financial analysis).

The Master thesis is written in pairs of two students with a close supervision by a faculty member. You are given access to quantitative empirical data via library and IT labs. The qualitative data are usually obtained in a Swedish business context thanks to the excellent business connections of SSE. Furthermore, such cooperation could be particular valuable for you, as companies tend to consider those students for recruitment.
