Join the Financing Sustainable Cities workshop series

As part of the Smart City Business Event, this three-day workshop series will explore what barriers and possibilities presently exist in amplifying city innovations and enabling cities to reach their sustainability goals.

The Viable Cities Finance project is hosting three workshops at the Smart City Business Event: The Road to Smart City Live between 2 and 16 November. Viable Cities’ Finance is a research project that examines how financial actors and cities can best collaborate to fund the achievement of the sustainability-related goals of Swedish cities. The project is led by the Stockholm Environment Institute in partnership with Cleantech Scandinavia and Misum at the Stockholm School of Economics.

Join us at:

Workshop #1 on November 2, where a panel of European cities will discuss how they are financing their sustainability plans, what funding gaps currently exist and other barriers that limit their impact.

Workshop #2 on November 9 will invite infrastructure investors, pension fund representatives and venture capitalists to dig deeper into the financing gap and brainstorm solutions.

Workshop #3 on November 16 will give an overview of current economic solutions and available tools for funding sustainable city innovation.

These workshops are part of the Smart City Business Event: The Road to Smart City Live – a workshop series with the purpose of providing a platform to governments, city representatives, start-ups, SME’s, corporates, experts and investors in order to initiate long-term partnerships. Organizations and cities from all over the world will be brought together to establish new alliances and build on existing ones. Innovators and experts will share their solutions and it will be a great opportunity for investors with a smart city focus to find investment opportunities.
