Cryptocurrencies like bitcoin have been doomed since birth, but lately several established players have started to swing. At the same time, the resistance in the fine room of the financial world is great and the tone is sometimes brutal.
"They're going to use cryptocurrency," says Viktoria Winberg, project manager at Östersund Municipality.
Her mission is to attract sustainable electricity-intensive companies to establish themselves in the municipality. That is why she and a number of other northern municipalities have been contacted by companies, so-called miners, who are working to create (mining) new cryptocurrency.
