Describe your role and what it is that you do overall and on a day-to-day basis:
I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in Economics affiliated with LMU Munich as well as the Digital Business Initiative and Golub Capital Social Impact Lab at Stanford Graduate School of Business.
As a researcher, I am interested in the economics of technology.
I study how digital technology and social science research can be used to improve the effectiveness of leading social sector organizations - to design targeted public policy, to explore the best ways to raise funds for those who need them most or to directly support people in their everyday life.
In addition, I work on understanding how digital technologies and the remaining geographic frictions between remote teams affect firm organization.
What interested you about the field/company/role you are currently in?
I am passionate about leveraging data science tools to inform high-impact decision-making combining economic intuition with machine learning and econometric methods.
Why did you choose to study your subject area at SSE?
I am very curious about economics which was also my major during my undergraduate degree. SSE provides a great opportunity to dive deep into economics while at the same time keeping a close connection to business studies and corporate relationships.
How did your time/education at SSE help guide you to the career journey you have embarked on?
Economics provides a great foundation for the multi-disciplinary world of data science building powerful economic and business intuition while promoting great quantitative skills.
